Remanensi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Boleh jadi suatu saat genset Anda tidak bisa mengeluarkan tegangan, padahal mesin berjalan baik. Setelah konsultasi dengan teknisi Anda, dia bilang problem ini mungkin terjadi karena Remanensi generator Anda hilang! Apa maksudnya? Apa benar demikian?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Untuk menjawabnya kita bahas sedikit tentang cara kerja generator AC dalam membangkitkan listrik. Singkat cerita, generator menggunakan prinsip induksi elektromagnetis untuk menghasilkan listrik. Jika Anda ingat pelajaran SMP dulu, ini artinya harus ada:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Magnet, dan<\/li>\n<li>Kumparan, dan<\/li>\n<li>Keduanya harus saling bergerak agar muncul induksi.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pada generator, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">magnet<\/span> diletakkan pada rotor atau <em>armature<\/em> (yang bergerak berputar), sementara <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">kumparan<\/span> pada stator yang diam di sekeliling rotor. Berputarnya magnet akan menimbulkan arus listrik pada kumparan stator, yang dipakai sebagai output generator.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Masalahnya, sebenarnya rotor kita tidak dimuati magnet, melainkan elektromagnet! Jadi, yang terpasang pada rotor adalah besi yang dililit kumparan! Besi itu hanya menjadi magnet jika kumparan itu teraliri listrik. Itu teorinya!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pada saat kumparan tadi tidak ada listrik mengalir (saat generator dalam keadaan diam), tetap ada sisa \/ residu sifat magnetis di dalam besi itu. Inilah yang kita sebut dengan remanensi tadi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Saat generator mulai berputar, remanensi magnet yang lemah ini tetap bisa membangkitkan output listrik yang (pada akhirnya) diarahkan balik ke kumparan lilitan besi tadi, sehingga memperkuat medan magnet besi itu. Semakin banyak dan cepat ia berputar, maka kekuatan magnetis besi rotor itu akan mencapai target dan menghasilkan Voltase yang cukup sebagai output.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nah, sekarang kita bisa menebak, apa yang terjadi jika ternyata remanensi magnet tadi hilang, kan? Tanpa remanensi magnetis pada besi rotor tadi, tidak akan ada induksi pada kumparan stator! Tidak ada listrik yang dihasilkan! Dan tidak ada listrik yang dikembalikan ke lilitan besi tadi, sehingga besi tetap tidak menjadi magnet! Akibatnya: tidak ada tegangan sama sekali yang keluar dari generator kita.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bagaimana caranya remanensi magnetis tadi hilang? Ada beberapa penyebab:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Generator sudah lama tidak diputar, sehingga besi itu sudah lama sekali tidak menjadi elektromagnet, dan kehilangan sifat magnetisnya sama sekali.<\/li>\n<li>Rotor baru dibongkar, untuk perbaikan atau untuk pergantian lilitan. Ini juga berpotensi menghilangkan remanensi magnetis.<\/li>\n<li>Saat start genset, beban langsung terhubung pada generator. Seharusnya genset dibiarkan berputar hingga kecepatan kerja sebelum beban dihubungkan ke generator. Jika tidak demikian, sejak mulai start mesin, generator mengeluarkan listrik ke beban, sehingga tidak cukup listrik untuk dikembalikan ke lilitan rotor tadi. Akibatnya besi rotor gagal menjadi magnet dan tidak dapat menginduksi kumparan stator untuk menghasilkan voltase.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apa yang bisa kita lakukan untuk \u2018menemukan kembali\u2019 remanensi yang hilang ini? Kita bisa melakukan \u2018Field Flashing\u2019, yaitu memasukkan arus listrik DC langsung ke kumparan lilitan rotor tadi.
